Limited Edition Cassette HipHopTech Mixtape Out Today
Over the past two semesters, music major Cristina Shaul ‘25 worked with Dr. Patrick Rivers and Professor Mark Tavern on creating a compilation album as her Independent Research Project. During this time she got experience in being an album producer, creative director, production manager, and learned about record label marketing.
The mixtape was compiled from 10 years of tracks completed by students in Dr. Rivers’ Hip-Hop Technology and Production course. Dr. Rivers says: “Hip-Hop Technology and Production was a realization of my dissertation. Ten years later, this compilation represents some of my most rewarding times in a classroom. Our students' inspiration, creativity, and humanity are recorded on this cassette.”
The release is a limited edition of 150 hand-numbered cassettes, available on April 11 at the Rein Records Bandcamp site.
Copies will also be available at the Rein Records Pop-Up Shop in Beckerman on April 12 in celebration of Record Store Day..
